(KRON) -- One woman was killed and six others were wounded in a shooting inside a Spirit Halloween store at Solano Town Center in Fairfield on Friday night.

Pregnant woman among victims identified from Fairfield mass shooting

Police said the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. and appears to have been a targeted incident involving one suspect. The woman killed was identified as 31-year-old Constance Hages. Her family told investigators she was pregnant at the time of her death. That information is pending confirmation by the Solano County coroner.

KRON4 spoke with a witness who was inside the store during the shooting. The witness asked to remain anonymous and shared video capturing the panic as people tried to escape.

“It sounded like 10 gunshots go off at least, and then after when I started recording, like, two more went off and that was it, and everyone was running, they were like ... they were yelling like they’re shooting.”

The witness said the store was packed that night. She had gone with her sister and a friend to shop for Halloween costumes when they heard what they initially thought were balloons popping.

“We just hear like shooting, like bang, we thought it was balloons popping but it wasn’t, like we were just in shock, like we couldn’t even move, only sister did, like she pulled us down.”

After the gunfire stopped, the group tried to leave the store. The witness described encountering a mother who was crying and yelling that her son had been killed.

“At least like two minutes go by and it’s over, we get up, we try to leave, and there’s this mom yelling like saying her son’s dead, she’s like crying really loud.”

The witness said she, her sister and their friend remain devastated and traumatized by what happened. She said they do not know when they will feel OK again.

“I don’t know, we just kept talking about everything that happened because we didn’t even think it was real, it just feel like we’re just in a dream.”

Fairfield Mayor Richard Vaccaro spoke with KRON4 and offered condolences to the victims, their families and everyone affected by the shooting. He also urged the community to support one another.

“My deepest condolences go out to the victims and their families and everyone that was impacted at the Solano Town Center. You know, Fairfield’s greatest strength is how we take care of each other, you know, and I urge everyone in our community to support one another, especially now during such a critical time.”

On Saturday, flowers and memorial messages were left outside the Spirit Halloween store, with letters on the ground reading “R.I.P.”

Police said three male victims, ages 16, 19 and 32, remain in critical condition. A 23-year-old man is hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Two additional victims, ages 19 and 43, received treatment for gunshot wounds and have since been released.

No arrests have been made, and the shooter has not been identified. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence.
